Some of our Outstanding Nonprofit Grant Recipients
Grant Application Guidelines
The Marilyn Lichtman Foundation accepts grant applications from nonprofit organizations that qualify under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (“the Code”). All applications must align with the Foundation’s mission, and meet our established grant requirements and guidelines to be considered for funding. Please note that all grant awards are subject to budgetary limitations.
Ineligible Applicants
The Foundation does not accept applications from or award grants to the following entities:
- For-profit organizations
- Political organizations or campaigns
- Government entities
- Endowments
- Individuals
- Organizations that re-grant funds to others, unless the organization is a Code-recognized entity (e.g., a foundation) established to support or raise funds for the applicant named in the grant request and whose purpose is consistent with the Foundation’s mission.
Grant review process
All grant applications and supporting materials are carefully reviewed by the Marilyn Lichtman Foundation Board. Decisions are made at the Board’s discretion, typically within 30 to 60 days of receipt. You will be contacted if additional information is needed during the review process.
Please ensure the following when submitting your application:
- Use only the current version of the Grant Application form (linked below)
- Submit all materials in PDF format (ZIP files will not be accepted)
- Applications that are incomplete or use outdated forms (dated prior to 05/09/2025) will be automatically declined.
Final funding decisions rest solely with the Foundation’s Board. All decisions regarding whether to approve a grant and the amount of the grant are considered final, and are subject to available funding.
Grant Award and Acceptance
If your organization is selected for funding, you will receive a Grant Notification and Acceptance Letter outlining the terms and conditions of the award. Grant funds will not be disbursed until this agreement is signed and returned to the Foundation.
After grant funds received have been disbursed by your organization, you will be required to submit a report (“Grantee Report”) to us by the one-year anniversary of the date of the Grant Notification and Acceptation Letter, or upon our earlier request, documenting how grant funds were used. Use only the current version of the Grantee Report form (linked below). Non-submission of this report will preclude the Foundation from considering future grants.
