We are happy to again support the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove, located on the grounds of Audubon’s first home in America in Montgomery County, near Valley Forge. Audubon’s live bird collection features native non-releasable birds to bring an up-close, natural encounter with birds that illustrates the valuable role each species plays in nature, creating a better understanding of the roles of both wildlife and people. These intimate experiences with birds provide unique learning opportunities for all ages. Their birds, primarily raptors, have been injured in the wild and can only survive in a controlled/captive environment. They provide opportunities for teachable moments in our formal education programs, through visitor interaction at the visitor center and their enclosure, and at special events.
