We were happy to return to Family Promise, Rochester, to provide Grant funding.  Our funds will be used to support their Prevention & Diversion Program.  This program provides financial assistance for rental arrears to prevent an eviction or a security deposit or first month’s rent to divert a shelter placement and regain permanent housing. The Prevention & Diversion Program contributes to the maintenance of family stability, the promotion of community and neighborhood stability, and a decrease in shelter costs for Monroe County/City of Rochester, NY.  At FPGROC, the average cost to prevent an eviction or divert shelter in 2022 was $930, compared to the average cost of a shelter placement at $1,438.
