A grant was presented to 13thirty Cancer Connect to support their mission to help adolescents and young adults (AYAs) impacted by cancer live their very best lives – today!
Since 2001, 13thirty has concentrated their efforts and resources on a targeted national problem that affects 89,500 young people in the U.S. each year.
13thirty offers a variety of peer programs for their members in three main categories: arts, wellness, and just-for-fun social gatherings. These resources help AYAs enhance their coping skills and self-esteem by building satisfying peer connections, learning to self-advocate, and developing effective self-management tools for long-term health.
13thirty provides a comprehensive continuum of support (from diagnosis and treatment to healthy survivorship or if necessary, end-of-life), so AYAs with cancer successfully transition through each state of their cancer experience – they’re there through it all.
