We were happy to provide Grant funds to Mercy Medical Center Foundation, Rockville Center, New York, for their neonatal care unit.   Our funds will be used to purchase two new and upgraded Isolette incubators to replace older units approaching end of service life for their premature newborns.  Their project is called the Mercy Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Isolette Replacement Initiative.  Isolettes are critical in helping premature babies survive their first 2 and half months of life by helping to maintain body temperature and skin moisture. “Preemies” who are born after sometimes only 24 weeks are not able to control their body temperature and their skin is paper-thin which makes staying hydrated almost impossible.
