NEXT for AUTISM

We are happy to provide grant funding to NEXT for AUTISM. NEXT has two decades of experience launching and supporting ground-breaking initiatives that support their vision that everyone deserves to live a productive and fulfilling life. Current initiatives include NEXT CONNECTS, to improve neurodiverse hiring and employment, NEXT for AUTISM FELLOWS, to help bridge the gap for individuals requiring greater support needs, and the NEXT grants program, to identify and support autistic-led and community-based projects that empower the well-being of individuals in the areas of home, social, and work.

East End Disability Associates, Inc.

We happily presented Grant funds to East End Disability Associates. Our funds will be used to support the addition of a wheelchair ramp and deck replacement of their residence in Manorville, New York. This house is home to eight adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and cerebral palsy.

Long Island Alzheimer’s & Dementia Center

We presented Grant funds to Long Island Alzheimer’s & Dementia Center to help them with their Hardship Fund. Seventeen of their seventy-five current program participants receive partial support from their Hardship Fund, with one person receiving full support. Several participants would not be able to attend LIAD without this assistance. An estimated 1 in 8 Long Islanders over the age of sixty-five have Alzheimer’s disease.

The Neighborhood House

We are happy to provide Grant funding to The Neighborhood House, in West Sayville, New York. Our funds will be used toward their Connections and Dinner Brigade Program. The Neighborhood House is committed to help people grieving the loss of a family member or loved one to suicide or overdose. Participants in their Connections program share a home-cooked dinner together, engage in professionally led support groups with peers, and work cooperatively in expressive art activities together before returning home.

Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation

We are happy to provide Grant funding to the Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation in Water Mill, NY. Our funds will be used to support their The Watermill Center Education Programs; specifically to expand access for Multilingual Learners. Watermill’s Education and Inclusion programming gives students of all ages and economic backgrounds the time, space and freedom to create and inspire.

We are happy to present Grant funds to The Little Shelter in Huntington, NY.
Our funds will be used to expand their out-of-state rescue program, Passage to Freedom, to cover transportation costs, sterilization, and initial vaccines.

The Arc of Monroe

We are happy to present Grant funds to The Arc of Monroe contributing towards their DSP (Direct Support Professional) program. Their DSP in-Training Program presents an innovative workforce solution to the lack of professional caregivers. This involves a paid five-week course after which students are deployed to one of their day or residential sites. Arc of Monroe provides individualized support and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Doylestown Health Foundation

We are happy to once again provide Grant funds to Doylestown Health Foundation. Our Founder, Marilyn Lichtman, was an avid art student and remained an art lover throughout her career in the health and human services field. She believed that human comfort rests in the body and the soul, and both should be nourished. In 2020, the Lichtman Art Gallery was established within Doylestown Health’s Cardiovascular and Critical Care Pavilion. This space spans over 60 feet of wall space and allows the community to enjoy a variety of wonderful art pieces throughout the day.

Project MEND

We are happy to again support Project MEND (Medical Equipment Network for those with Disabilities) in San Antonio, Texas with Grant funding. For 31 years, Project MEND has refurbished, reused and distributed Durable Medical Equipment and other Assistive Technology items to those in need.
